Memphis FC Signs Defender Scott Cheevers

Memphis FC is excited to announce the signing of defender Scott Cheevers for the 2026 USL League Two season.

A Nashville native, Cheevers joins Memphis FC as a commanding central defender with experience competing at some of the highest levels of the collegiate and developmental game. Standing at 6’4”, he brings size, physicality, and a strong defensive presence to the squad as the club continues building toward its inaugural campaign.

Cheevers spent time with the University of North Carolina men's soccer program before continuing his collegiate career with Wofford Terriers men's soccer, where he has continued to develop into a composed and reliable defender capable of controlling the game from the back line.

In addition to his collegiate experience, Cheevers developed through the Nashville SC Academy pathway and competed with Huntsville City FC, gaining valuable experience in high-tempo, professional environments. His combination of physical tools, aerial ability, and calmness under pressure makes him an important addition to the Memphis FC defensive group.

Cheevers adds another layer of strength and depth to the roster as Memphis FC prepares for its first season in USL League Two.
