September 18, 2025-The United Soccer League announced today that Memphis Football Club, a new franchise, will join USL League Two in 2026.

Memphis FC intends to carry on the rich history of soccer in the local area by engaging with the community and building a club that represents greater Memphis. The club aims to provide a clear pathway for local talent to flourish and develop into professionals.

“We are beyond excited to get League Two on the ground in Memphis,” said Joel Nash, USL SVP of Youth and Pre-Professional Properties. “With the enthusiasm driving this group, we are eager to see the passion they will tap into with the local fanbase and legacy of soccer they will continue to grow in the region.”

The new club’s ownership group is led by Carey Talley, a former professional player who won the 1999 MLS Cup with D.C. United and made over 300 appearances across 13 seasons. Carey is joined in the front office by his brother Clark Talley; the pair are proudly continuing their family’s deep connection to the local soccer scene. Their parents, John and Kim Talley, led the creation and growth of the Mike Rose Soccer Complex in Memphis.

“As we launch Memphis Football Club into USL League Two in 2026, we recognize the incredible moment this represents for both our city and our country,” said Carey Talley, Team President of Memphis FC. “Our club is committed to creating real opportunities for local and domestic talent; giving players from Memphis and the Mid-South a pathway to develop, compete, and be seen on a national stage. Memphis has a proud soccer legacy, and joining USL League Two allows us to honor that history while building a future where the next generation can achieve their goals through the pathway to pro system.”

Memphis FC will be a member of the Mid South Division in USL League Two’s Southern Conference.
